Man, I am so impressed.
We searched for someone to build us a deck with a screened in porch which would also need a full roof.
We found Josue of Patio Pergola Builders and when he came out he was so knowledgeable, listened to what I wanted and gave me a really fair price.
Once the guys got measurements and started building it really took shape quickly.
When we had questions Josue got back to me quickly and explained things thoroughly and to my satisfaction.
You can’t see where the new roof joins the old-it is seamless. The screens are amazing, you can’t even tell screens are there!
They told me how long for certain deliveries and they were right. The crew came and did their thing and took care of our property while doing the build.  The build is now done and my new back porch is our favorite place to hang out. I’m so glad I found this company! I actually found them through ChatGPT after the contractors working on our house told us they weren’t comfortable doing this particular project. When they finally found someone who could do it, we were quoted around $20,000 — which was way more than I was willing to spend!

I started looking for another option and found these guys. They contacted me, came out, looked at what we wanted, and gave us a quote for about a fourth of the price.

And the best part? They did a fabulous job! It turned out exactly how we wanted it. This was something my husband really wanted, and seeing how excited he was with the finished product made me even happier.

Josue bid a good price, scheduled the permits and inspections, negotiated with the city on challenges (the City of Watauga is notoriously rigid with permits and inspections, especially if electricity is part of the build).

The team came on time and did quality work, even putting on another coat of stain on the ceiling because I wanted a darker color, and another team added gutters and even mounted them to empty into my water barrels.

Changes and additions to the scope of work were discussed as they came up, and implemented with negotiations to price for upgrades.  I got everything I wanted.

The project was stage two of a potential three stage project, paid for in cash as funds were available.  Josue offered financing ootions, but we didn't want to finance anything.

Stage one was to replace an old patio with an elevated patio that is foundation-height and grade for a room addition.  That was done 8 years ago by a different contractor who only did concrete work.

Phase two was to build a shingled hip roof onto our existing house covering the patio, install a pine ceiling, can lights, ceiling fan, electricity, insulation, gutters, and make it so walls, windows, and doors and HVAC could be added later with no modifications to existing or new work.  This was done by Josue with 3D drawings and whatever the city needed to start work.

We love our new covered patio and will live with it for awhile to decide whether we want to eventually enclose it for a larger dining room, or keep it as is.  That will be stage three.  We will keep Josue in mind if we decide to move forward later once we have saved up more money.

We had a great experience with Josue and his crew! I would highly recommend using them for a pergola project. Josue took care of all parts of the process and his crew were all so friendly and great at what they do. We had our patio covered, lights and fans installed and an outdoor kitchen added in.
