⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’m so glad I found this company! I actually found them through ChatGPT after the contractors working on our house told us they weren’t comfortable doing this particular project. When they finally found someone who could do it, we were quoted around $20,000 — which was way more than I was willing to spend! I started looking for another option and found these guys. They contacted me, came out, looked at what we wanted, and gave us a quote for about a fourth of the price. And the best part? They did a fabulous job! It turned out exactly how we wanted it. This was something my husband really wanted, and seeing how excited he was with the finished product made me even happier. Great communication, excellent work, and a very fair price. I’m so glad I found them and would absolutely recommend them! Five stars!Posted on Google![]()

I wanted a simple fixed awning. Patio Pergola Builders does not build fixed awnings. Josue Santuario, the owner, came to my house and he built exactly what I requested. Truly I say, because of his integrity he made an extra effort to make it happen. You can be assured he will do the same for you.Posted on Google![]()

Josue and his team are absolute professionals. They built a custom carport in just under a week, and communication was on-point the entire time. They let me know the plan for each day and answered all my questions. The final design matched the house so well it looks like it was always there. They also kept the workspace clean every single day. Highly recommend Josue and his team!Posted on Google![]()

Josue bid a good price, scheduled the permits and inspections, negotiated with the city on challenges (the City of Watauga is notoriously rigid with permits and inspections, especially if electricity is part of the build). The team came on time and did quality work, even putting on another coat of stain on the ceiling because I wanted a darker color, and another team added gutters and even mounted them to empty into my water barrels. Changes and additions to the scope of work were discussed as they came up, and implemented with negotiations to price for upgrades. I got everything I wanted. The project was stage two of a potential three stage project, paid for in cash as funds were available. Josue offered financing ootions, but we didn't want to finance anything. Stage one was to replace an old patio with an elevated patio that is foundation-height and grade for a room addition. That was done 8 years ago by a different contractor who only did concrete work. Phase two was to build a shingled hip roof onto our existing house covering the patio, install a pine ceiling, can lights, ceiling fan, electricity, insulation, gutters, and make it so walls, windows, and doors and HVAC could be added later with no modifications to existing or new work. This was done by Josue with 3D drawings and whatever the city needed to start work. We love our new covered patio and will live with it for awhile to decide whether we want to eventually enclose it for a larger dining room, or keep it as is. That will be stage three. We will keep Josue in mind if we decide to move forward later once we have saved up more money. Photos attached.Posted on Google![]()

We had a great experience with Josue and his crew! I would highly recommend using them for a pergola project. Josue took care of all parts of the process and his crew were all so friendly and great at what they do. We had our patio covered, lights and fans installed and an outdoor kitchen added in. All of these were done professionally and in a timely manner.Posted on Google![]()

Your local dallas Fence Company Near You
not A Fence Sales Company
There are two types of fence builders in Dallas…
The big luxury outdoor living construction companies with high overhead and big commission sales teams…
And the small local fence builders who subcontract to actually build the fences for those big construction companies.
We’re the second type.
I run a highly skilled crew. I handle the design. I build your estimate. I’m leading when I’m on-site during your build and when I’m off-site my highly experienced foreman guides our crew.
This keeps our pricing fair. And it keeps our quality high. Every home is different and every homeowner is different. That’s why I build fences to match your house, your taste, and your budget.
Popular Fence Types with Dallas Homeowners
Our fences are built to last through North Texas heat, storms, hail, and the expansive clay soil that moves under every property in Dallas. The most popular fences we build in Dallas-Fort Worth and the surrounding communities are cedar privacy fences, horizontal cedar fences, pressure-treated wood fences, and ornamental iron fences (wrought iron fences). Each has its own benefits and drawbacks, which we’ll walk through below.
Cedar Privacy Fences (Board-on-Board)
Cedar Privacy Fences (Board-on-Board)
Drive through almost any Dallas neighborhood and this is the fence you’ll see. A cedar privacy fence turns your backyard into your own space, and it looks good doing it.
Cedar has natural oils that resist rot and insects, it stays straighter than most woods, and if you leave it alone it weathers to a soft silver-gray. If you’d rather keep the warm red-brown color, we can stain and seal it after the build.
We build two main styles. The board-on-board style overlaps the pickets so there are no gaps, even after the wood shrinks in the summer heat.
Cedar Privacy Fences (Shadowbox)
Cedar Privacy Fences (Shadowbox)
The cedar shadowbox style fence alternates pickets on both sides of the rails, so it looks finished from your side as well as your neighbor’s side, plus lets a little breeze through.
I’ll tell it to you straight… not every “cedar fence” is built the same. Some contractors save money with thin pickets, skip the bottom rot board (kick board), and leave the top raw.
We’ll show you exactly what goes into your fence, including picket thickness, a rot board that keeps the pickets off the dirt, and a top cap and trim if you want that finished look.
Horizontal Cedar Fences (Modern Fences)
Horizontal Cedar Fences (Modern Fences)
Horizontal fences are the style we get asked about most for newer homes and remodels around Dallas. Long, clean lines make a backyard look bigger and more modern, and they pair well with dark stain or black steel posts.
What most homeowners don’t hear is that horizontal boards naturally want to sag. A vertical fence picket is secured to the top, middle, and bottom rails of your fence.
A horizontal board only touches the posts at each end. That makes closer post spacing, a stiffer frame, and careful board selection necessary for this modern horizontal style fence or it starts to wave within a year or two.
That extra framing is why a horizontal fence costs more than a traditional vertical picket style privacy fence. Better you hear that from me upfront than watch your fence droop next summer.
Pressure-Treated Wood Fences
Pressure-Treated Wood Fences
Pressure-treated wood fences are the budget-friendly way to get a strong wood fence. The wood is forced full of preservative, so it stands up to rot and termites in our Dallas Texas climate, and it takes stain well once it dries out.
Here’s some insider industry knowledge that most homeowners never hear about. Pressure-treated wood comes wet from the treatment plant, so it shrinks, twists, and can check (crack along the grain) as it dries in the Texas sun.
It also has a green tint at first. So give it a few weeks to dry, then stain and seal it. That’ll make it look better and last for years.
If you want a wood fence and you’re watching the budget, pressure-treated is a solid choice. If you want the straightest, best-looking boards over the long haul, cedar is worth the upgrade.
Ornamental Iron And Steel Fences (Wrought Iron Fences)
Ornamental Iron And Steel Fences (Wrought Iron Fences)
Ornamental iron is the fence you choose when you want security and good looks without blocking the view. It’s the go-to for front yards, pool areas, and neighborhoods where the HOA calls for an open-style fence.
Today, most “wrought iron” fences are actually powder-coated steel. It looks the same, costs less, and holds up well. It won’t warp, rot, or get eaten by termites, and it needs very little upkeep.
What to know before you choose it? A powder-coated steel fence (wrought iron fence) gives you no privacy, and if the coating gets chipped by a mower or weed eater, rust can start at that spot.
A quick touch-up every so often keeps it looking new. If you’re fencing a pool, the gates need to be self-closing and self-latching, and we’ll build it as required by your city.
A Word About Fence Posts
A Word About Fence Posts
Whatever fence you choose, it’s only as strong as the posts holding it up. Dallas clay soil swells when it rains and shrinks when it dries, and that constant movement is what makes fences lean.
Wood posts set in concrete cost less, but over time they rot where they meet the ground.
Galvanized steel posts cost more upfront but last much longer, and on a wood fence they can be hidden behind the boards so you still get a full cedar look.
We’ll walk you through both options and let you decide based on your budget and how long you plan to stay in your home.

Not Your typical Fence Builder in Dallas Texas
Most of our customers call us after talking to one of the big outdoor living construction companies here in Dallas.
They met with a salesman, received a high priced estimate, and the person selling the build isn’t even the same person building it.
