⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’m so glad I found this company! I actually found them through ChatGPT after the contractors working on our house told us they weren’t comfortable doing this particular project. When they finally found someone who could do it, we were quoted around $20,000 — which was way more than I was willing to spend! I started looking for another option and found these guys. They contacted me, came out, looked at what we wanted, and gave us a quote for about a fourth of the price. And the best part? They did a fabulous job! It turned out exactly how we wanted it. This was something my husband really wanted, and seeing how excited he was with the finished product made me even happier. Great communication, excellent work, and a very fair price. I’m so glad I found them and would absolutely recommend them! Five stars!Posted on Google![]()

I wanted a simple fixed awning. Patio Pergola Builders does not build fixed awnings. Josue Santuario, the owner, came to my house and he built exactly what I requested. Truly I say, because of his integrity he made an extra effort to make it happen. You can be assured he will do the same for you.Posted on Google![]()

Josue and his team are absolute professionals. They built a custom carport in just under a week, and communication was on-point the entire time. They let me know the plan for each day and answered all my questions. The final design matched the house so well it looks like it was always there. They also kept the workspace clean every single day. Highly recommend Josue and his team!Posted on Google![]()

Josue bid a good price, scheduled the permits and inspections, negotiated with the city on challenges (the City of Watauga is notoriously rigid with permits and inspections, especially if electricity is part of the build). The team came on time and did quality work, even putting on another coat of stain on the ceiling because I wanted a darker color, and another team added gutters and even mounted them to empty into my water barrels. Changes and additions to the scope of work were discussed as they came up, and implemented with negotiations to price for upgrades. I got everything I wanted. The project was stage two of a potential three stage project, paid for in cash as funds were available. Josue offered financing ootions, but we didn't want to finance anything. Stage one was to replace an old patio with an elevated patio that is foundation-height and grade for a room addition. That was done 8 years ago by a different contractor who only did concrete work. Phase two was to build a shingled hip roof onto our existing house covering the patio, install a pine ceiling, can lights, ceiling fan, electricity, insulation, gutters, and make it so walls, windows, and doors and HVAC could be added later with no modifications to existing or new work. This was done by Josue with 3D drawings and whatever the city needed to start work. We love our new covered patio and will live with it for awhile to decide whether we want to eventually enclose it for a larger dining room, or keep it as is. That will be stage three. We will keep Josue in mind if we decide to move forward later once we have saved up more money. Photos attached.Posted on Google![]()

We had a great experience with Josue and his crew! I would highly recommend using them for a pergola project. Josue took care of all parts of the process and his crew were all so friendly and great at what they do. We had our patio covered, lights and fans installed and an outdoor kitchen added in. All of these were done professionally and in a timely manner.Posted on Google![]()

Your local dallas Deck contractor
not A Deck Sales Company
There are two types of deck builders in Dallas…
The big luxury outdoor living construction companies with high overhead and big commission sales teams…
And the small local deck builders who actually do the design and building work.
We’re the second type. I run a highly skilled crew. I handle the design. I build your estimate. I’m leading when I’m on-site during your build and when I’m off-site my highly experienced foreman guides our crew.
This keeps our pricing fair. And it keeps our quality high. Every home is different and every homeowner is different. That’s why I build decks to match your house, your taste, and your budget.
Popular Deck Types with Dallas Homeowners
Our decks are built to last and to best match your style, comfort, and your budget. The three most popular deck builds we do here in Dallas-Fort Worth metro and surrounding areas are composite decks, cedar decks, and pressure-treated wood decks. Each has their own unique benefits and drawbacks that we’ll outline below…
Composite Decks (Trex Decks, TimberTech)
Composite Decks (Trex Decks, TimberTech)
Composite is the deck you build when you’d rather spend your weekends relaxing on the deck rather than working on it’s maintenance.
The boards are wood fiber and recycled polymer made to last 20+ years. No staining, no sealing, no refinishing.
It won’t splinter under bare feet, and it holds its color through a North Texas summer. Upkeep is soap, water and a soft brush.
Here’s the part I’ll tell you straight, because not everybody does. Composite decking gets hot in direct sun light and darker boards run hotter than lighter ones.
If your deck faces west with no shade, then I’ll steer you toward a lighter color, or we’ll talk about whether or not you should cover some or all of your composite deck. Better you hear it from me now than find out in July after your composite deck installation is completed.
One thing worth knowing is that a composite deck is only as good as the frame under it. Composite calls for tighter joist spacing than wood. Get that wrong and the deck feels soft underfoot. Work with us and we’ll take care of you by doing it the right way.
Cedar Decks
Cedar Decks
Cedar give you that traditional look that homeowners fall in love with. The grain, the color, the smell of it. Nothing else looks like it, and composite deck suppliers spend a lot of money trying to imitate it.
Cedar contains natural oils that resist rot, decay, and insects without chemical treatment, which is why a well-built cedar deck can last a long time here in Dallas.
It’s also noticeably cooler underfoot than a composite deck in July, and if you’ve got kids or dogs running in and out of a pool, that matters.
You get to choose how it ages. Left alone, cedar weathers to a soft silver-gray that a lot of people prefer. If you want to keep the warm red-brown, plan on cleaning it and putting a semi-transparent stain on it every two or three years.
Cedar dents and scratches more easily than pressure-treated or composite, so a dropped smoker leg or a dragged patio chair leaves a mark. It also costs more than pressure-treated wood but less than composite.
Pressure-Treated Wood Decks
Pressure-Treated Wood Decks
Pressure-treated wood decks are very popular in North Texas, and there’s a good reason for it. It costs the least to build with, it’s strong, and it takes stain well, so you can have it any color you want, and change your mind in five years.
Pressure-treated wood is usually Southern yellow pine or Douglas Fir. These woods are forced full of preservative under pressure, which is what lets it stand up to rot, fungus and termites in our climate.
Here’s a detail here most homeowners never hear about, and it matters… pressure-treated wood does bend, buckle, and move.
Expect some checking along the grain and a little cupping as boards dry and swell through our summers and cold snaps. Keep it washed and sealed every couple of years and it stays tight, handsome and solid for a long time.

Not Your typical Deck Builder in Dallas Texas
Most of our customers call us after talking to one of the big outdoor living construction companies here in Dallas.
They met with a salesman, received a high priced estimate, and the person selling the build isn’t even the same person building it.
That’s not how we work. When you hire us, you work directly with me (Josue), the owner. From your initial estimate, to your final walkthrough.
I handle the design, pricing, permits when needed, and I stay involved during the entire build to make sure you get exactly what you desire.
That’s how we keep our projects on track and our pricing fair. We’re your local family owned deck builder in Dallas Texas with a small crew and low overhead. This allows us to focus on quality, not quotas. That’s why our clients rave about us on Google.
